Cowboys sign veteran LB Ernie Sims


The Dallas Cowboys have signed veteran linebacker Ernie Sims. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played college football at Florida State.

Sims played in 13 games last year for the Indianapolis Colts with four starts and was credited with 32 tackles. In 2010, he started 15 games for Philadelphia and had 55 tackles and two sacks. He spent his first four seasons with Detroit.

Sims has 530 career tackles, 4.5 sacks, and one interception in his six years in the NFL.
