Dallas Cowboys safety Barry Church was on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM) earlier today and said that both he and Cowboys middle linebacker Sean Lee are doing sprints and band work in their rehab workout at Valley Ranch.
Church said he’ll definitely be 100% by the time the team prepares for training camp in Oxnard, California.
Church said that new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin told him to prepare to be the John Lynch role to be a in the box safety, an enforcer role in the Cowboys new 4-3 Dallas 2 defense.
Church was the Cowboys starting strong safety last year until he torn his right Achilles in the third quarter of the Cowboys 16-10 victory against Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Cowboys signed Church to a contract extension last season worth nearly $9 million, he will receive a $2.5 million dollar signing bonus, and the deal has $3.8 million dollars in guaranteed money.
