It was a busy day at Valley Ranch today…….
The Dallas Cowboys released starting safety Gerald Sensabaugh in their first salary cap related move of the year. Releasing Sensabaugh the Cowboys will save around $1.4 million on the cap this season.
In other Cowboys news the Dallas Cowboys used their franchise tag on OLB/DE Anthony Spencer for the second year in a row.
Last year Spencer recorded a career high in sacks with 11 and lead the team with 95 tackles.
Dallas Cowboys will have to pay Spencer at least 120 percent of his 2012 salary if he plays the 2013 season as their franchise player. His tag last year’s was $8.865 million, this means Spencer’s franchise tag number for this season will be $10.638 million if they do not agree on a long-term contract.
